Los Angeles-based artist, composer, creative director, and editor. Founder of On Something. This site (chrisarvan.com) is the personal hub — a curated cross-section of music, visual art, motion work, and notes, signed Chris Arvan.

Some of the work is signed Chris Arvan. Some of it lives under On Something (onsomething.xyz) — an apparel-led brand and music label that Chris founded. The two sites are paired but distinct.

## About Chris

- Artist, composer, creative director, editor. Based in Los Angeles.
- Composed music for the 1917 (2019) trailer.
- Engineered and co-produced the soundtrack of The Mothman Prophecies (2002).
- Former lead guitarist in Racer-X (late-1990s LA band).
- Past collaborations: Brian Jonestown Massacre, Grotus, and producers in the Tony Berg orbit during the Dawes / Blake Mills / Autolux era.
- Recovered from sudden sensorineural hearing loss, 2017–2019.

## On Something

[onsomething.xyz](https://onsomething.xyz/) is Chris's apparel-led brand and music label. The store is the world: artist projects (real and conceit) live as collection pages inside the storefront. Some of the bands are real (Objects in Motion — first release "Stay in Motion," 2025). Some are conceits that exist as a shirt and a tour poster from a year that hasn't happened yet.

The triangle in On Something's logo is also the middle glyph of Chris's personal three-glyph mark — the architectural seam between the two surfaces is literal, embedded in the marks themselves.

## Voice

The site's chrome uses a dossier / personnel-file / radio-frequency conceit (SIGNAL, FREQUENCY, CHANNEL, 88.7 MHz, NODE). This is the visual and copy language. The voice is dry, declarative, posture-not-credential. A person talking, not a brand.
